WORLD FAMOUS: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

The home of the famous Great Wildebeest Migration, the name Serengeti is synonymous with the African safari experience. The seemingly unending savannah plains of the park are home to Africa’s most famous animals, the „Big Five“ – lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos and rhinos.

TREE CLIMBING LIONS OF LAKE MANYARA

Lake Manyara offers a diverse wilderness experience for travellers; from its lake to the dense woodlands and mountain sides. It is famous for its tree climbing lions and the large herd of elephants. Other wildlife that can be seen here are giraffes, buffalos, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, waterbucks, and warthogs. Leopards can also be seen within the forests. The shore of the lake is coloured with pink flamingos and attract over 400 bird species.

NGORONGORO CRATER – SEE THE BIG FIVE

Not only is Ngorongoro home to the world’s dense population of wildlife, it also hosts members of the Big Five; the lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo. Ngorongoro is a fertile valley and one of the best opportunities to spot game and has the densest known population of lions. It has a picturesque scenery. Ideal for photographic safaris.

The area is also a great choice for budding anthropologists because of the links to ancient civilisations; Olduvai being home to some of oldest records of man’s existence.

TREK MT KILIMANJARO; AFRICA’S HIGHEST MOUNTAIN

For the more adventurous, nothing beats that joy of reaching the summit of one of the most famous mountains on the planet. It is the highest mountain in Africa, standing at 5,895 meters. RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

Ruaha is Tanzania’s largest yet relatively unknown park. Located in the south west, it is visited by a few tourists making it a worthwhile expedition. The park is named after the Great Ruaha River that is a lifeline to the wildlife and a rich hunting ground for predators. Ruaha is home to 10% of the world’s lion population and has wildlife species from east and southern Africa. Ruaha has over 500 species of birds.

THE CHIMPANZEES OF MAHALE MOUNTAINS

The dense jungle of Mahale National Park is home to a large population of chimpanzees. Tracking these awesome creatures takes hard work; from climbing up steep, muddy paths, stumbling over twisted roots, making your way through dense vegetation. All the sweat is forgotten and excitement starts bubbling the moment you spot them. The best spot to see the chimps is in Mahale Mountains and Gombe.
